This marks the 23rd year that the Orange County Artists Guild will host its Annual Open Studio Tour. During the first two weekends in November, more than eighty artists located throughout Orange County, including Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough, and surrounding areas will be participating in this juried event and opening their studios to visitors who will discover where the creative design happens!

OCAG’s Open Studio Tour is a rare opportunity for art lovers from Orange County and beyond to meet artists in their places of work, to view and purchase art directly from the artist, and in many instances to watch as artists demonstrate how they create their pieces.

The 2017 Studio Tour will take place November 4th-5th & 11th-12th, 2017. Studios will be open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This year's studio tour with feature the work of artists Ellie Reinhold and Nancy L. Smith.

For several years Ellie Reinhold has been walking two parallel paths in her painting--one figurative, "content laden", and the other informed by, if not strictly tied to, landscape. You could say that in the former she explores the inner landscape, and in the latter she riffs on the inspirations of the landscape around her.

Nancy Smith's use of texture and transparent layers invites you into a connection with her paintings you won’t easily walk away from. Inspired by internal experience and the external world, she develops each piece using collage and acrylic paint in numerous layers with a variety of techniques.
