artGuide Magazine art blog is thrilled to have John Crum's modernist impressionism.  We first talked to Hilton Head artist John Crum a few months ago when we learned of his work in Karis Art Gallery in Hilton Head South Carolina.

John is best known for figurative, whimsical, and gently surreal coastal paintings. His imaginative work captures solitary moments of love and inspiration around the Lowcountry.  Applying his curious and sometimes whimsical twist and title to a painting, John’s art takes the viewer on an unexpected and magical journey.

“Your art always makes me smile” is the most common response John receives from collectors and friends.  With his bright and bold palette, John’s painting style is instantly recognizable throughout his wide and varied range of subjects; be it people, boats, or a coastal land or seascape.

Moving from Bay Village on the North Coast to Hilton Head Island in 2001, John has maintained a lifelong career as painter, muralist, illustrator & graphic designer.
