NC Mountain Arts Adventure is a studio tour in the beautiful Mountains of North Carolina. artGuide Magazine is excited to showcase these artists to its readers.

Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Alleghany County is a group of sixteen artisans and craftspeople who make up the North Carolina Mountain Arts Adventure.  These various studios and galleries open their doors to the public the third weekend in June and again in October to provide an adventurous and educational self-guided journey in celebration of creativity.  Discover the techniques and processes within the art you admire, get to know the artists, watch them at work, and even shop in their personal settings.  As you follow the tour map, you will navigate your way through an area rich in natural beauty and home to the North Carolina Mountain Arts Adventure.

This eclectic group of people came together six years ago with a vision to support and nurture the visual arts in Alleghany County. They met and collaborated on ways to enhance the artist community within the county. This was not only to share their talents and love of the arts but to share their beautiful county.  After several meetings the North Carolina Mountain Arts Adventure was born and with it the mission to support and nurture the visual arts, locally and regionally.  In addition to providing artists with an opportunity to develop, exhibit, and sell their work, it is the group’s intent to provide the public with occasions to meet and interact with the artists in their studio environments and, by doing so, to build an arts community through mutual support, cooperation, and education.

Over the years the group has grown, and the juried membership includes such diverse mediums as metal sculptures, silver smithing, stained glass, pottery, bird carving, furniture, musical instruments, wood work, basketry, print making, painting, jewelry, and glass sculptures.  There is something for everyone even if you didn’t know it was for you.

These artists are inspired by the beauty with which they are surrounded, please join them on this enchanting adventure. Visit our website at:
